1) Discuss overall, long term, and short term goals

2) Updates on ILO, Kalākaua Project

3) Discuss access issues. Assign research topics

4) Identification of partner entities – International/Hawai`i entities. Outreach assignments

5) 8th ILEWG  and final corrections/preparations to send poster to Beijing

6) Presentation by Leilehua Yuen on Constellations of Hawaii’s Summer Sky and study resources for teachers and homeschool families.

 

News Release:

Learn about some Hawaiian summer constellations at the July 17 meeting of the Hawai`i Island Space Exploration Society. Leilehua Yuen tells Hawaiian stories and legends, plays music, and teaches a little hula in a fun evening program for keiki through kupuna. A list of study resources for teachers, homeschool families, and others with an interest in the topic will be available. The meeting also will discuss plans for the International Lunar Observatory, and HISES presence at the 8th International Lunar Exploration Working Group in Beijing, China. 5:30 pm in the High Technology Development Corp conference room at 117 Keawe St. (old bank building across from Bear’s Coffee). Access from Kalakaua St. Free parking in the HTDC parking lot. Attendance is free, but seating is limited, so please register by phoning 935-1722.
